We only had a short few days in Glacier National Park during the autumn of 2024, but we did have automobile passes into the park roadway (these were very limited to avoid overcrowding. We drove Going to the Sun Road twice in those days and also made it the Many Glacier area for a nice hike.
On our return from Many Glacier we travel the Going to the Sun Road westward and travelled through a couple of downpours. Not wonderful for hiking/walking, but beautiful for photography as we pulled over with the car to capture these images.
This one was taken after coming over the pass In a downpour, looking west down the valley ahead of us.

Looking back toward the pass we just came through on the way home, the clouds still linger and obscure a dramatic mountain wall behind them.
I’ll leave you with one more image from that morning on the road toward Many Glacier, before the rains arrived!
The more our world get darker and noisier, the more important I am finding it to get outdoors to places of beauty. If you don’t have a Glacier National Park in your back yard (I don’t), it’s amazing the beauty that can be found in fields and forests, lakes and streams, other quiet, beautiful places nearby. I hope to bring more of these to you through this publication.
Also, please note that while I do this mostly for myself, I always love to read your reactions and comments to these posts. Please send a few words with your reaction to what I send out.
THANK YOU!
